How it all began.
As a physiotherapist intensively involved in the equine industry, I have gained valuable insights into the root causes of equine discomfort that require intervention. I have treated horses for back, neck, and shoulder pain more than any other conditions.
Over time, I noticed that many horses had similar pain patterns, which led me to diligently investigate potential causes.
While many factors can contribute to a horse’s pain, discomfort, or movement limitations, my experience has shown that ill-fitting tack, especially saddles, often plays a significant role as the primary cause or contributing to their discomfort.
There was one thing that stood out above all else and it was this that motivated me to find a permanent solution to the repetitive clinical pattern.
Optimal movement and performance improvement are essential for today’s performance horses, and a well-fitting tack is crucial for success.
We pride ourselves on our custom-made products tailored to specifications.
Our workshop is in Paarl, and we have our own machinery, in-house designers, and seamstresses.

Senior Seamster/Designer
34 years of age. Resides in Paarl. “I studied fashion design at the University of Technology in the Western Cape province and have worked as a designer and creator of garments ever since.” His love for creating and animals is what drew him to Equipoise. His motto: "I know everything has its time and you cannot compete with destiny. What you thought you wanted that you don't have right now was not yours to have or at least not your time now to have but don't be OK with it. Getting too comfortable in your present can result in uncomfortable in your future".

Born and raised in Cape Town, Vee has a vital Office Administration and Project Management background and excels in customer care. She is dedicated and committed to every task she undertakes and does not take no for an answer if instructed to get something done. Her tenacity and determination are traits that can only be admired. Her self-care and care of those around her are impeccable, yet she can maintain firm boundaries. She is invaluable to the Equipoise team and ultimately makes it all happen. She lives on an Equestrian farm with her beloved Jack Russel, Cypress.

I would describe myself as an open and honest person who does not believe in misleading others and tries to be fair in everything I do. My motto is: "A DREAM written down becomes a GOAL. A GOAL broken down into steps become a PLAN. A PLAN backed by action becomes REALITY."

“One of the most significant accomplishments we have experienced from the Equipoise is that the horse’s shoulders start levelling out within just a few weeks. The science is that where pressure from your saddle may still have been, the high-density foam aims to create enough room for the muscle to expand and grow by lifting the saddle and distributing the localised pressure.
It is phenomenal to see the change in the horse’s stride once they have the freedom of range to move their shoulders normally with the saddle on their back. I can see the difference it can make to the rider’s seat by helping them accommodate their weaknesses and encouraging both parties to move optimally.
